CaddieBib is an AI golf caddie. Sometimes a player tells it something about their health, like “my wrist hurts.” This page says what happens to those words. It is our consumer health data privacy policy under Washington’s My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373), Nevada’s consumer health data law (SB 370) and similar laws. It covers every CaddieBib player, wherever you live. Our full Privacy Policy covers everything else.
- We take what you say about your health out before we save anything. That covers voice transcripts, notes, problem reports, crash reports and the rest. The app can miss a rare word. If it does, tell us and we will delete it.
- The app asks you two separate questions. Both start off.
- If you say yes to both, words about your health go with that one question to our AI services, including DeepSeek, a company in China, which may use them to train its AI.
- If you say no to either one, your phone takes those words out before anything is sent.
- We never sell health data. You can change your answers any time in Account settings.
Section 1What we collect, and why
CaddieBib does not ask about your health. Consumer health data only reaches us when you bring it up with the caddie, by voice or by typing. These are the kinds of health data that can come up:
| Kind of health data | For example |
|---|---|
| Injuries, pain and how your body feels | “My wrist hurts,” “my back is killing me,” “I tweaked my knee” |
| Treatment and medicine | “I took two Advil,” “my doctor said not to swing hard,” surgery or physical therapy |
| Being sick | A cold, the flu, a headache, feeling dizzy |
| Sleep and tiredness | “I didn’t sleep last night,” “I’m exhausted” |
| Drinking, drugs and tobacco | “I’m hungover,” “a few beers at the turn” |
| Mental health | Anxiety, depression, a panic attack, or a crisis |
| What the caddie works out from it | The caddie’s reply to those words, like “rest that wrist” |
Why. Only to answer the question you just asked. With your OK, the caddie can add a common‑sense safety tip, like “if it’s sharp pain, stop.” We do not use health data for ads, to build a profile of you, for your player memory, for your stats, or to improve the app. The caddie is not a doctor and does not give medical advice.
Your answers. We also keep a record of your yes or no to each question, with the date and the version of the question you answered. That record is how we know what you agreed to.
Section 2Where it comes from
- You. What you say or type to the caddie.
- Your iPhone’s speech recognition. Apple turns your voice into text, sometimes on Apple’s servers, under Apple’s privacy policy. This happens before the app can tell a health word from a golf word.
- The caddie. Its reply to what you said.
We do not get health data from anyone else, and we do not buy it.
Section 3The two questions
Right after you allow the AI caddie, the app asks two separate questions. If you allowed it before this page existed, the app asks once at a calm moment, never during a round. Both start off. Leaving a question unanswered counts as no.
- The caddie may hear what you say about your health, like pain or an injury. This is your OK for us to collect it.
- We may send those words with your question to our AI services, including DeepSeek in China. DeepSeek may use them to train its AI. This is your OK for us to share it.
Only when both are yes do words about your health go with your question. Otherwise your phone takes them out before the question is sent, and the caddie answers only the golf part. This uses the same word check, so a rare word can still slip through. Our servers check your answers again and take the words out too if your record does not say yes to both. If a crisis is mentioned, those words always reach our servers so the app can point you to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and they are still taken out before anything is saved.
You can change either answer at any time in Account settings. A change takes effect right away, for the next thing you say.
Section 4What we share, and with whom
What we share: the words about your health in a question you asked, and the caddie’s reply to them. Only when you said yes to both questions, and only for that question.
| Company | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| DeepSeek (China) Third party |
Your question with the health words in it, with the rest of what the caddie sends to answer you (see section 6.1 of the Privacy Policy). DeepSeek keeps what it gets in China and may use it to train its AI. We cannot make it delete it. DeepSeek’s privacy policy | Writing the caddie’s answer |
| Inworld AI, Deepgram (USA) Service providers |
The caddie’s reply, when it mentions your health, to turn it into a voice. We never save that audio. Inworld, Deepgram | The caddie’s voice |
| Supabase (USA) Service provider |
Your question passes through our servers on its way to DeepSeek. It is not saved. Supabase also stores the record of your two answers. Supabase | Our servers and database |
We have no affiliates that receive health data. We never sell health data, and we do not use location to find out whether you visit a place for health care. We share health data with someone else only if the law makes us, and we will tell you if we are allowed to.
Section 5What we keep
- Health words: we take them out. Before anything is saved on our servers, the app and our servers take out what was said about health, from your words and from the caddie’s reply. “My wrist hurts, what club from 150?” is saved as “what club from 150?” This covers voice transcripts, shot notes, hole notes, practice notes, problem reports, app activity, crash reports and the caddie’s saved voice clips. Your player memory never keeps a note about your health. The app looks for words about injuries, pain, illness, medicine, sleep, drinking and mental health. It can miss a rare word. If you see one we missed, email support@caddiebib.app and we will delete it.
- Your two answers: until you delete your account. Each change is a new entry, so we can show what you agreed to and when.
- What DeepSeek receives: kept by DeepSeek under its own terms, as above.
Your own phone may keep what you typed as you typed it, like your hole notes. That copy stays on the phone, and it is deleted when you sign out or delete the app.
Section 6Your rights
Every CaddieBib player has these rights, wherever you live:
- Know and see it. Ask whether we collect, share or sell your health data, and get a copy of it. We will also give you the list of every company we shared it with and how to contact them.
- Withdraw your OK. Turn either switch off in Account settings, or email us. It works right away.
- Delete it. Ask us to delete your health data, including the record of your answers, or delete your account in the app. We will pass your request on to every company we shared it with.
- Appeal. If we say no to a request, you can ask us to look again.
- No penalty. We will never charge you more or give you a worse app for using a right or for saying no.
Section 7How to use your rights
- Email support@caddiebib.app from the address on your account and tell us what you want. A person reads it.
- We answer within 45 days. If we need more time, we tell you why, and take at most another 45 days.
- We check that the request is yours by confirming you control the account email.
- Requests are free, at least twice a year.
- To appeal, reply to our answer with the word “Appeal”. We answer within 45 days and explain why. If you are still unhappy, you can contact your state Attorney General. In Washington, that is the Washington State Attorney General.
Section 8How we protect it
The best protection is not keeping it, so we don’t. Everything is encrypted on its way to our servers and to DeepSeek. Only the people who run CaddieBib can see the record of your answers, and only when they need to.
Section 9Changes to this policy
The date at the top shows the current version. If we change what we collect or who gets it, the app asks you the two questions again before the change applies to you.
